Arrived at Vegas around 4:00 PM yesterday, immediately went to UNLV to register for the design competition and stay for the dinner. We built a spaghetti tower that crushed the previous record by 10 inches.

When we got back to the hotel we passed out immediately. The next day we left early for UNLV for the design competition. This was where all our hard work over the entire school year was put to the test. Our robot had to traverse a course that had water, sand, and walls as high as 20 cm, all to deliver a payload of rice while keeping the payload from getting "contaminated" by said water and sand.

We didn't manage to deliver our payload, because our servos were too weak to get us up the 20 cm wall. As it turned out, only one school managed to actually deliver the payload, and we got the closest out of everyone else.

So, that's what I did over the weekend. Tonight we're cruising the strip and tomorrow we're leaving for Oregon.

I've been scavenging parts from an old defunct Sharp copier and prototyping some fixtures for our laser engraver out of bits of junk and laser-cut plexi myself...

needs more bracing I may have to move to 1/4" thick for the base, it also needs an extended axle support for the lower drive sprocket but it's coming together, should be up and running soon...
